Overview
tnnl is designed to keep VPN profile data on your Mac. The app does not provide a public VPN service, does not operate VPN servers for users, and does not sell access to a VPN network.
Information tnnl stores
tnnl stores imported VPN profile information locally on your Mac so the app can display profiles and connect them through macOS Network Extension APIs.
- Imported OpenVPN and WireGuard profile configuration.
- Profile names and local app settings needed to manage those profiles.
- Credentials, when needed for connection, stored in Apple Keychain.
Diagnostics
Diagnostics are copied only when you choose Copy Diagnostics in the app. Before diagnostics are copied, tnnl redacts secrets from OpenVPN and WireGuard material where supported by the app.
tnnl does not automatically upload diagnostics, logs, VPN profiles, or credentials.
Analytics and telemetry
tnnl does not include telemetry, analytics SDKs, remote logging, advertising identifiers, or diagnostic upload.
Network traffic
When you connect a profile, VPN traffic is handled according to the profile you imported and the VPN server or provider associated with that profile. tnnl does not inspect, sell, or monetize your VPN traffic.
Data sharing
tnnl does not sell personal information. Because profile data and credentials are stored locally, tnnl does not share them with third parties as part of app operation.
Data removal
You can remove imported profiles from the app. Credentials saved for connection are stored in Keychain and may also be managed through macOS Keychain Access.
